ICAR Arunachal Pradesh Centre, Basar organized International Day for Yoga 2019.

ICAR Arunachal Pradesh Centre, Basar organized International Day for Yoga on 21st of June 2019 at Research Farm Gori. The programme was started with welcome speech from Dr. Doni Jini, Joint Director In Charge, who gave brief speech on significance of Yoga for overall wellbeing. During the opening session, Dr Rajesh A Alone (Scientist, Agroforestry) and Dr.Jitendra Kumar, Scientist (Soil science) highlighted about history of Yoga. As a yoga instructor, Mr. Kaushik Bhagawati (Technical Officer) started the programme with Morning Prayer and mantras and gave brief speech on science of yoga. Mr. Bhagawati demonstrated and instructed the participants to do basic Pranamaya to get rid of daily stress and some simple yoga Asanas focusing on back, arm and neck health particularly for those office staff who consistently sit and work on computer. All the participants actively participated and practically learned the Asanas. At the end of the programme, all the participants took oath to regularly practice yoga for their mental and physical health.
